If you happen to be visiting the University of Montevallo or just passing through, be sure to stop and have lunch or dinner at Main Street Tavern. Even though everything on the menu is great, my personal favorites are the Surf and Turf and Main Street Carbonara! Voted the best burger in 2021 by Shelby Living, Jeff Webster and his team aim to please!

If you find yourself in the area, you should stop in and pay tribute to our fallen service men and women. The cemetery serves to honor those, and commemorate the sacrifice they made for this great country. Although the setting may seem somber, there is an air of comfort in knowing that you don't have to travel all the way to Washington to pay homage.

What started as an all-women's college in 1896 has blossomed into the hub of the city of Montevallo. It's one of only 27 public liberal arts colleges in the country. The university boasts one of the longest running college traditions in the country, and was featured as such as an answer on Jeopardy. Apart from it being an amazing learning experience, the campus itself has beautiful sculptures and plenty of natural beauty to abound. It's worth the time to simply drive around the area, it's gorgeous!
