Indian Springs School was founded in 1952, and is a day and boarding school. It has young men and women from around the Birmingham area and throughout the country. The students come together to learn by living and working with an accomplished faculty in a community of scholars and individuals. Indian Springs School is led for its first 20 years by educator Dr. Louis E. "Doc" Armstrong. Almost all of the faculty members have advanced degrees, and have chosen to teach and mentor young people.

Recently, the school has gone through some renovations to its campus by opening new dorms for all residential students. A new state-of-the-art Science Center was built to establish the school's passion for academic excellence. Just last year, Indian Springs opened 18 new classrooms equipped for virtual learning. The cutting-edge classrooms, broad curriculum, and innovative independent study enhance the great teaching that opens doors to new ideas and new possibilities. Presented by Medical Properties Trust and benefiting the Woodlawn Initiative and Restoration Academy, this soccer tournament will feature more than 220 teams from across the country on October 1st-2nd, 2016. The first store for the casual fast food restaurant brand is set to open in Birmingham in the Lee Branch area. The store will be located next to Walgreen's and BBVA Compass Bank at 301 Doug Baker Blvd.

And in the case of Bellini's Ristorante located on the corner of Hwy 119 and Doug Baker Blvd., the rave reviews I heard from friends about this place as "The Best Italian" dining in the area was right on the money! My husband and I enjoyed the perfect dining experience at Bellini's recently. We were thoroughly impressed with the exquisite food, excellent service, and tasteful ambiance. It was truly the best Italian dining experience we've ever had, hands-down (now I'm the one who's raving about Bellini's!).

Executive Chef Matthew Lagace's menu is packed with heavenly Italian fare from the traditional Fettuccine Alfredo, Veal Parmesan, and Chicken Parmigiana to the New York Strip cooked to perfection or flavorful Pistachio Crusted Wild Salmon. If something salty or savory is what you crave, the appetizers are tempting and the desserts incredibly decadent!

One of the best parts (and little known fact) about Bellini's is that they not only cater, they offer Healthy Meal Plans for pickup or delivery! These Paleo, 1200 calorie, and 1600 calorie meal plans are reasonably priced and can be ordered online. March 2016 the new Chick-fil-A will be open! We all love the food, but another positive is that this one location will employee about 70 people. It is expected that on opening day about 2500 customers will visit this one location.
