    When I first moved to this area, Plantation Hills was considered the alternative to Lake Forest. The difference was Lake Forest had amenities and HOA dues; Plantation Hills had neither. The first phase of Plantation Hills was largely constructed in the 1980s; the second phase was undertaken by Benchmark homes in the 2000s. Because of its location on the eastern edge of Daphne's limits, Plantation Hills feeds into Spanish Fort schools, making it one of the most economical options to get into that school district.
