You don't have to go to Texas anymore to see Longhorn Cattle. There is a cattleman in Greenville that specializes in Longhorns with the aim of producing cattle with horns with record setting distance from the tip of one horn to the tip of the other. Amazing to see.

Greenville's Cambrian Ridge Golf Course, a part of the Robert Trent Golf Trail, is a golfer's paradise. It has 3 nine hole courses and a nine hole, par 3 short course among the hills and valleys of Butler County. The short course lies along the lakes of Sherling Lake Park and water comes into play on 5 holes. The Sherling & Canyon combination was named the 3rd best n ew public course in America by Golf Digest when they opened. They were also in their list of America's Top 50 Affordable Courses. They were also named by Golf Digest's "Places to Play"as one of America's 40 Super Value courses.

Real Pit Barbecue is located just off of I65 at the northern most Greenville exit and is not impressive when you drive up. It is a small space with just enough room for the couple that owns it to move around each other. The taste of their barbecue, camp stew, and other choices have people from all over the area standing in line. There are many from out of town that will stop when passing through Greenville. Tastes just like an old fashioned 4th of July family gathering.
  • Greenville is a great small town that is full of Southern charm and interesting people. It maintains the small town atmosphere while being just minutes from Montgomery, the state's capitol. The downtown area is making a comeback with such attractions as a new art gallery and a bakery that has goodies that would appeal to anyone's sweet tooth. Camberian Ridge is a 36 hole championship golf course that is part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and attracts golfers from across the country and internationally. Connie and I have lived in Greenville since the early 1980's and have found it to be an ideal place to raise a family and to make friends that last a lifetime.

The Ritz Theater in downtown Greenville was built in 1935. I remember watching Gone With the Wind and Your Cheating Heart, the Hank Williams story here. The original decor was restored in the late 1980's and now used for theater productions, pageants, and concerts. The Ritz is a unique place to visit in Greenville.
