Rosie's Mexican Restaurant is one of many great restaurants we have in historical downtown Florence. This restaurant features Mexican entrees for everybody's appetite. Tacos, burritos, and tamales, the list goes on and on. My absolute favorite is the chicken spinach quesadillas. Famous for their Margaritas and any other drink you can think of. Great atmosphere and a nice outside deck to sit and enjoy your food outdoors.

Florence is a fabulous city because you can enjoy four seasons of the year. We are headed into a beautiful summer. The flowers will be in full bloom.

One of my family's favorite places to eat lunch is Trowbridge's. I grew up eating at Trowbridges and didn't realize just how special it is. Apparently, it was opened by the Trowbridge family back in 1918 and is still owned by them today. They created their own recipe for orange pineapple ice cream and originally made it at the restaurant. Today we still enjoy it in huge scoops just like they have always served. It is fantastic to leave there with huge ice cream cones and money still in your pocket. A trip to Trowbridge's is like stepping back in time. Be sure to stop in and have a cone if you're ever in Florence.

The Marriott Shoals is wonderful for those who visit the area, as well as those who live here. The four diamond hotel offers outstanding service for overnight guests and great amenities for us locals too. The full service spa is a great place to relax and feel pampered. Get your nails done, have a pedicure, a facial or massage, and their gift certificates make great gifts (just in case you need ideas).

Swampers Bar and Grill has good food, a casual atmosphere and reflects the rich music heritage us locals are accustom to. You never know who might show up to pick a song or two.

For special occasions, check out the 360 Grille sitting high atop the Renaissance Tower! The dining floor turns and gives you a beautiful view of the Tennessee River and Wilson Dam, especially at night. It is a little pricey, but worth it for the ambiance and splendor for those special occasions.

The kids will love the playground and the splash pad at the park next door. There is a covered pavilion if you want to host a family meal or just get in out of the sun. It's also nice to just relax and enjoy the view and the sound of the river rushing through the spillways from the dam nearby.

The adjacent Convention Center is also a great venue for trade shows, meeting space, professional conferences and much more.

Oh! And if you want pictures of your kids and their prom dates? The waterfall between the hotel and the convention center is perfect! Just beware of all those paparazzi moms.

Locally owned, homemade fresh pies made daily. BBQ and smoked chicken. Delicious. Best service around. You won't be disappointed.
