    This local business that sells hardware, lumber and many more things was opened in 1974 by Willard Shaw and his two sons, Herbert and Jerry. It started in a small building on Mount Olive Rd. The thing people remember most is a mynah bird named Bill Shaw. He could talked and even called the dogs. They had a fireplace that attracted contractors to stop in on cold winter mornings before heading to their jobs. They liked to sit by the fire, drink coffee and tell their stories of the week.

    Buck Short Bridge
    The Buck Short Bridge, originally the Frank A. Hewitt Bridge, is also known as the Locust Fork River Bridge. It is a steel truss bridge that spans 238 ft that goes over the Locust Fork of Warrior River north of Mount Olive and west of Morris. In 1982, because the bridge supports where deteriorating, they built new pillars and move the bridge to new location.
