    The City of Warrior was incorporated around 1890 and has seen many changes through the years. Located approximately 25 minutes from Downtown Birmingham, Warrior has a small town feel.

    There is convenient shopping in "Downtown Warrior" --- local grocery stores, apothecaries, hardware stores, etc. In addition, local eateries are hometown favorites! There are pretty neighborhoods throughout Warrior.

    Jefferson County School District serves most Warrior areas: Warrior Elementary School, North Jefferson Middle School and Mortimer Jordan High School. Small parts of Warrior are in Blount County.

    Warrior Day is the first Saturday in November. The parade normally starts around 9:00 at the elementary school. Many of the children's activities are free, including inflatable moon bounces.

    Rickwood Caverns State Park is known as the "miracle mile." It is composed of passages and lighted rooms accented with white limestone formations. The park was acquired by the Alabama State Park system in 1974. There are 380 acres, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a campground, playground, picnic area with shelters, hiking trails, panning for gemstones, and a gift shop. A great time for the entire family!
