  • Whether you come by car or on the Dauphin Island Ferry from Ft. Morgan in Gulf Shores, you should make the trip because it's worth every penny. As you come in from 193 to Bienville Blvd, it's a great stop for stretching your legs a bit and feeling welcomed onto the Island. Behind the Center is the Dauphin Island Heritage and Arts Council, another great place to view the beautiful artwork of locals. Check for times on events at this center and go enjoy it!

We had a wonderful experience riding the ferry to Fort Morgan from Dauphin Island and back again. The staff was very friendly, and the ride was very enjoyable. It was way more enjoyable than the one-hour 40-minute drive from our condo in Dauphin Island!

We spotted dolphins as we ferried along and enjoyed the breeze. The ferry's website will update periodically with information about wait time so you'll know if they're backing up or good to go. I highly recommend the ferry and will definitely be traveling this way in the future!
  • If you want to enjoy a beautiful sunset while you dine on Dauphin Island, J.T's Sunset Grill is a fantastic option. With views of Dauphin Island bridge, a phenomenal sunset along with pelicans and seagulls perched on the dock pilings, this is a million dollar view. Enjoy!

Dauphin Island is the quintessential small-town Southern Island. The beaches are not crowded, but the sand is warm and the waves sound heavenly. Bring your favorite beach chair, a cold beverage and watch the sun set from the back side of the island.

You can also hang out at Pirates Bar & Grill, order the Conecuh Ponchtartrain grits topped with Beer Batter fried alligator covered in Roasted Tomato and a Blackened Shrimp Creme, and watch the sun set from there!

No matter if its sun up or sun set, Dauphin Island has something for everyone. Come enjoy the Southern splendor that is Dauphin Island Alabama. See you on the beach!

Looking for a place on Dauphin Island to grab a quick lunch? You have to check out Miguel's Beach'n Baja. They have a great story. They started with a food truck and their business took off from there! One taste of their homemade salsa or guacamole (my personal favorite) and you will know why. The food is amazing! They do not offer indoor seating, which is fine. I mean, you came to the beach to be outside, right?! I have stopped here many times to grab a burrito (they are massive, by the way) stuffed with their sweet pulled pork and an order of guacamole and taken it to go. The East End Beach is the perfect place to chill in your beach chair and pig out on some delicious Mexican food! It just doesn't get any better than that.
