    Owens Cross Roads, also known as Big Cove is a fast growing community that is nestled at the foothills of Green Mountain and Monte Sano Mountain. This area offers an abundance of outdoor activities such as miles of bike, horse, and walking trails. Located 15 minute's from downtown Huntsville and 25 minutes from Lake Guntersville. The area also offers one of the famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Courses.

    Golfing in Alabama
    If you are a golfer and live in Alabama, you know about the Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf trail. For those of you looking to make a move to the area, there are 14 championship caliber courses spread throughout the state. The green fees range from $82 - $125. The way to go is purchasing a "trail card". This gives you a 50% discount on green fees and is good for a year. Many golfers, like myself, will take a week and play on as many courses as possible. The most northern RTJ course is located about 15 minutes from downtown Huntsville in a community called Hampton Cove. This course features a long and wide open links course that runs along a river called the River course. The complete opposite is the Highland course that features tight fairways, fairway sand traps, and elevated greens. It also comes complete with an 18 hole, Par three short course, driving range, putting and chipping greens. Their club house offers a full golf shop, a lounge to wind down, and a restaurant.
