Randolph County Rescue Squad is celebrating 50 years of service (1967 - 2017) to it's county. The squad began in 1967 with a vision by several men and continues strongly today. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit, search and rescue organization serving the citizens of Randolph County and one of the oldest squads in the state of Alabama. Twenty eight members (male and female) currently serve. Given the increase of recreational water activity on Lake Wedowee, three of those members have recently received their certification in scuba diving to provide volunteer service for drowning victims.
