The northern area of Tuscaloosa features large, small, and mini-farms. If you're looking to embrace the Joanna Gaines lifestyle, this is the area for you. Plant a garden, raise horses, chickens, cows, or even a goat on many of the available properties. You will find homes for sale on 1 - 100+ unrestricted acres with plenty of space for a barn, workshop, garage, warehouse, home business, etc. And of course, plenty of room for the kids to play.

Most of the homes in Northern Tuscaloosa County are located in the Northside school zone which has recently become popular as families move out of town and into a school zone with a community feel. The elementary, middle, and high schools are located within three miles of each other, with baseball, softball, and high school football fields on campus.

Additionally, beautiful Lake Tuscaloosa is only minutes away and the drive into Northport and Tuscaloosa is only approximately 15-30 minutes. What a great place to call home!

More and more people seem to want to live "out" away from the city. Out of a neighborhood and into quiet country living. The western area of Tuscaloosa County is very desirable. The schools are fairly new and it's a place families want to raise their children. Conveniently located less than 15 minutes from work and shopping in Northport, Alabama there are many beautiful idyllic farms. If you're looking for a working farm, a weekend retreat or a sportsmen's paradise, this is the perfect location.

In recent years, the City of Tuscaloosa's Park and Recreation Authority have supported numerous beautification projects to improve our most visited parks. The Riverwalk at Manderson Landing along the Black Warrior River is now one of my favorite places to take my dog to walk and let him swim.
